Sydney Weekly Wrap Edition 5
The view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge from Circular Quay never ceases to be magnificent.
Hello reader!
Thank you for coming back to our website for more ideas on places to go in Sydney.
In this week’s wrap-up, we share our experience enjoying yum cha in Chatswood, watching a special effects movie in Sydney’s downtown, and trying a quality Japanese sushi train restaurant.

King Dynasty
- 600/1 Anderson St, Chatswood
In one of the biggest Chinese seafood restaurants you’ll find in Sydney’s lower north shore, King Dynasty has a seating capacity that fits more than a hundred people. Every morning, trolley ladies wheel steaming bamboo pots around, interesting diners in hand-made Cantonese dim sum.

Event Cinemas George St
- 505 / 525 George St, Sydney
The Event Cinemas building complex is unmissable if you walk from Town Hall station down George St (towards Central station). There are plenty of restaurants inside, including a hidden Japanese ramen gem called Kazando.
The biggest of all Event cinemas in Sydney, the George St branch has “4DX” movie experiences. These involve the seats moving along to action scenes of the movie. Don’t be too surprised when puffs of wind blow on you, and sprays of water too! These mimic the experience of actually being in the movie.
Milliore
- G10 / 730-742 George St, Sydney
This Korean restaurant is regularly packed with diners looking for a late, late night meal. Milliore is open until a crazy 4am inside Capitol Square, in Haymarket! Inside, you can enjoy classic Korean fried chicken, hot stews and refreshing soju. It’s a fun vibe especially with friends. There is a projector screening K-pop videos around the tables.
Whalebridge
- 8 & 10 East Circular Quay Sydney
Whalebridge is a relaxed French bistro perched on the edge of Circular Quay’s waterside promenade. Sip a coffee or relish an oyster while surveying the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and calm waters of Sydney Harbour. It’s a must-visit for a romantic date, or if you’re introducing Sydney to people who are new to Australia.
Makoto Sushi Bar (World Square)
- 119 Liverpool St, Sydney
This restaurant serves quality seafood in a well-maintained and bright setting. A variety of sushi is available, you will likely find your favourite – whether it be a particular type of gunkan or a nigiri (that has a mouthwateringly fatty piece of tuna on top). The service is professional and the touch-screen system works well.
