Top restaurants for late night food in Haymarket, Sydney CBD

Haymarket is a buzzing part of Sydney CBD with plenty of night time activities

If you’re looking to enjoy night life in Sydney’s CBD, Haymarket is an area that is busy with shopping, dining and entertainment.

Want to sing karaoke? There are many options, including Dynasty and CEO (both on Dixon Street). Want to check-out a night market? Every Friday the area between the two Paifang red gates in Chinatown is where locals and tourists visit.

Naturally you will feel hungry after checking out different places in Haymarket, so here are some restaurants that are open until late.

Dae Jang Kum

With plenty of banchan side dishes, two-level seating, a Korean barbecue option and an energetic atmosphere, Dae Jang Kum is a staple establishment open until 12am every day. For a satisfying meal that won’t cost too much, the grilled bulgogi options are great.

Zhangliang Malatang

This Chinese fast food restaurant is unpretentious, convenient and regularly busy with solo diners and late night workers. Of the many different malatang brands in Sydney, Zhangliang has a fresh, younger vibe. Open until 11:30pm every night, this is a comfort food destination.

Mamas New York Style

Technically this cozy Korean eatery is not in Haymarket, but it’s close enough. There are tapas (sharing) dishes and classic Pocha cuisine. This means traditional Korean comfort food like Jumeokbap (rice balls) and various Jjigae (hot soup). Visit Mamas with friends and enjoy makgeoli, soju and wine 😉 They’re open until 3:30am every night!

Old Town Hong Kong Cuisine

This eatery is open until 1am most nights and serves Cantonese dishes in a comfortable, casual setting. Dishes like BBQ Pork with Fried Noodle or Har Gow Dim Sum are perfect for late night munchies. The menu at Old Town Hong Kong is extensive. It covers seafood and traditional dai pai dong dishes too.
