Long-standing Cantonese restaurant serving yum cha and seafood in a lively setting

With its sprawling dining floor and cheerfully bright interior, Crystal Seafood is a familiar restaurant to many locals in Strathfield. By day, you will see trolleys full with bamboo steamers of dim sum. These are wheeled around and vocally introduced to each table by friendly ladies.

A spacious dining floor with private dining available too

By night, Crystal Seafood restaurant is known for, you guessed it, Cantonese seafood dishes. At the back of the restaurant there are mini aquariums filled with live fish and crustaceans.

Yum cha in Crystal Seafood Strathfield

Local gem in Strathfield Plaza

You won’t have to walk far from Strathfield train station to find Crystal Seafood. It’s around 2 minutes, tucked away behind sliding glass doors on one side of Strathfield Plaza. On weekends, you’ll find it particularly busy with families enjoying yum cha.

Ladies with trolleys full of Chinese specialities

The service is friendly. One of the waiters remembered us from the first time we went and was enthusiastic about making us feel comfortable. The prices are not exorbitant, between three people we spent around $170. All of us were big eaters and we had to take some food away.

Crystal Seafood in Strathfield also offers private space for events and special occasions. If you’re looking for a Chinese restaurant in Sydney’s inner-west with comfortable seating and reliable food, this place is a worth a visit.
