A light-filled cafe by day and restaurant by night

In the leisurely back streets of suburban Zetland and away from the bustling East Village shopping precinct, Cicco Zetland has been a go-to hang-out since 2014. Locals love the house-roasted coffee and avocado smash by day, and trattoria cuisine (puffy pizza included!) by night.

Cicco Zetland serves Trattoria cuisine

Cicco Zetland is casual and conversational both in atmosphere and service. The cafe restaurant opens out onto the street so plenty of sunlight comes in, making the ambience pleasant and accentuating the modern rustic interior.

Seating is plentiful and spacious

Hearty pasta, pizza and wine in this Trattoria

A full-day menu is available, from which we ordered the Nonna Cicco Lasagna and Cicco’s Colazione. Although the speed of service wasn’t the fastest, the home-made quality to each of the Italian dishes is evident. The pizza menu includes White Base and Red Base options; the ones we ordered were fluffy and full of flavour.

There’s an firing oven running the pizzeria part of the restaurant

Fun fact, a trattoria is an Italian-style establishment that isn’t as formal as a ristorante, but not as casual as an osteria. Trattoria venues are known to serve local, family-style recipes, and often have a regular base of customers. Visiting Cicco Zetland, it’s easy to see how hours can be spent over scrumptious food and good company. Watch this TikTok video for more.
